Underwater Weld Repairs
Permanent CLASS APPROVED underwater weld repairs were thought to be IMPOSSIBLE until Subsea Global Solutions pioneered the certification process. Class approved permanent repair processes are established using underwater wet welding, atmospheric dry welding or hyperbaric dry welding for permanent repairs to incidental hull damage below water line. With an in-house Engineering department including Weld Engineers and Structural Engineers a repair procedure detailing the process of repair to be employed is develop upfront for pre-approval by insurance underwriters or Classification Societies. Subsea Global Solutions ensures a permanent repair is achieved on time where ever or whenever required.
Diver / Welder Technicians fully trained and Classification Society certified to Class "A" welds specifications- as outlined per ANSI/AWS D3.6M:1999- Specification for Underwater Welding and AWS D3.6M;2010 - Underwater Welding Code
Only diving company globally able to perform a Class "A" weld in BOTH a fillet and groove weld configuration in all positions.
Subsea Global Solutions designs underwater cofferdams of all sizes and configurations. Well versed in the development of flexible as well as rigid hyperbaric (open bottom) or atmospheric cofferdams. Specific purpose designed to assure the right underwater cofferdam is used by Subsea Global Solutions for unrivaled service.
HYDROWELD REPRESENTATIVES AND AMERICA'S HYDROWELD TRAINING CENTER
Hydroweld FS wet welding electrodes are the result of significant research and development into flux formulations, filler metals and supplementary coatings. They are designed to work in all positions in fresh water or brine to a depth of at least 100 metres, their outstanding user friendly properties and wet welding characteristics, easily produce high quality wet welds to internationally recognized standards.
Hydroweld FS is the electrode of choice where high quality wet welding is required. They can meet the requirements of AWS D3.6M-99 class 'A' fillet and groove wet welds as has been witnessed by Lloyds Register of Shipping (LRS), American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Bureau Veritas (BV), Rina and GermanisherLloyd(GL).
Hydroweld FS wet welding electrodes are currently the only wet weldingelectrodes approved for permanent and temporary repairs to war ships by the British Ministry of Defence (MoD). This was gained after intensive underwater comparability testing and further none destructive and destructive testing against all other commercially available wet welding electrodes by the MoD and The Welding Institute (TWI) and as a result the electrodes are now included in the NATO codification system.
