
Eric Smith
Chief Commercial Officer
Before joining Subsea Global Solutions, Eric Smith served as Director of Shared Resources at Resolve Marine, overseeing worldwide assets, vessels, and facilities across six countries.
Previously, he held the role of Chief Commercial Officer at Hendry Marine Industries, the parent company of Gulf Marine Repair Shipyard, Universal Environmental Solutions, and Anchor Sandblasting and Coatings.
Prior to that, he was Chief Commercial Officer at Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG), as well as serving as Head of Government Affairs, representing OSG’s maritime and political interests in Washington, D.C. He played a key role in OSG’s domestic fleet expansion in 2005 and the acquisition of Maritrans Inc. in 2006.
Before joining OSG, he spent 12 years as a tanker broker specializing in the Jones Act Trade and helped establish a joint venture with Exmar Offshore to design and build U.S. Flag Tankers. His career in shipping began as a project engineer for the Department of Defense, supervising the construction and delivery of nine oil tankers.
Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy. He is a member of ABS and serves on the Board of the International Propeller Club, Port of Mobile. His past affiliations include Chair of the API Marine Committee, and board positions with the Alaska Tanker Company and the American Maritime Partnership.
